I'm Mary, I had a deadjournal, but I've joined livejournal because the communities on here are really great and I'd like to join! :)
I graduated from SUNY Purchase with a bachelors in Liberal Studies (which is basically just a bit of everything....no specific major). I hate when people ask "what are you going to do with that degree?" Now I'm working on my MSW in Social Work at Adelphi University's Poughkeepsie, NY campus.
I'm originally from Brooklyn, NY.
I was born in Manhattan.
I like chinese food, especially chicken with ginger, and chicken with garlic sauce
I have a husband named Dave. We met in college when I was a freshman.
I had a 10 year old female Tabby cat named Tabitha. She died on 12/21/04 from inoperable tumors in her stomach and intestine. I miss her so much. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v248/Depeche810/DSCF0017.jpg that's Tabitha sleeping in one of her favorite places- on the arm of the couch under the lamp.
Dave and I have 2 cats- Tamriel (Tammy) and Destrin. Our 9 year old cat, Sydney passed away in July.
I love 80's music, and I'm a huge fan of Depeche Mode and Dave Gahan.
I haven't gone a single term in school without taking a foreign language since 5th grade. I've studied Latin, French, Italian and Chinese. I'm not a language major anymore, but I'll probably continue studying languages on my own at some point.
My dad is a cancer survivor of a rare Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma called Lymphoplasmacytoid Lymphoma.
I love Canada! I have a sticker that says Canadians Kick Ass. I put it on my first car- a 1987 Mazda previously owned by my grandparents and before that, my aunt. It has made its rounds in the family. I just got my first new car- a 2008 Honda Civic!
I love geography and learning about other countries. I'm DYING to go to Europe. They have awesome trains in Europe too (I love trains!)
